Mogadishu (HOL) — At least three people were killed and others injured in a high-speed car accident on Friday night along the road connecting Mogadishu and Jazeera, according to eyewitness reports.
A luxury vehicle carrying two women and a man veered off the road while reportedly speeding in a race with another car driven by young men heading toward Mogadishu. Witnesses stated the crash occurred after the vehicle lost control, leading to the fatal incident.
Local police have not yet issued a statement regarding the crash.
The Jazeera coastal neighborhood, popular for weekend leisure activities such as swimming and relaxing, sees increased weekend traffic as Mogadishu residents flock to the area.
