London (HOL) — Somali Lower House Speaker Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur Madoobe met with British Parliament Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle on Wednesday in London to discuss enhancing ties between the two countries’ legislative bodies.
In a statement, the Somali Parliament highlighted that the discussion centered on promoting cooperation, sharing parliamentary expertise, and exploring ways the UK Parliament could support capacity-building initiatives for Somali lawmakers.
Speaker Madoobe also toured the British Parliament, where Speaker Hoyle provided an overview of its operations and procedures.
During their visit, the Somali parliamentary delegation is also scheduled to meet with members of the Somali diaspora and the Somali Ambassador to the UK, reinforcing engagement with the diaspora community.
