Mogadishu (HOL) – The Somalia National Security and Intelligence Agency (NISA) has arrested several businessmen alleged to have secretly dealt with the al-Shabab militant group on Saturday.
The agency has not disclosed the names or the number of businessmen and called on the Somali people to be aware of the group’s plan to loot their property.
Since last year, the Somali government has intensified efforts to target the financial infrastructure supporting the Islamist militant group al-Shabab.
Hundreds of bank accounts and militant-connected mobile phones have been shut down during this period.
