Mogadishu (HOL) – Heavy gunfire is underway inside the central prison in Mogadishu on Saturday morning.
Preliminary reports indicate that a massive explosion was heard around the prison, followed by ongoing gunfire. Two conflicting reports suggest that armed men have entered the prison and that security guards are clashing with inmates who have seized weapons.
Security forces have reached the prison, but no further details about the incident are available now.
