Nairobi (HOL) – An explosive device was found at the fence of a police camp in Hagadera, Dadaab, prompting an immediate police investigation, authorities reported on Tuesday.

Officers from the Borehole Five Critical Infrastructure Police Unit Camp discovered the unexploded ordinance explosive upon returning to their base. The device is suspected to have been fired by terrorists in a prior attack on the camp.

The explosive was safely stored and is currently under guard, awaiting the arrival of the Bomb Disposal Unit from Dadaab for its detonation.

The incident is part of a series of attacks in the region, attributed to Al-Shabaab. The militants, reportedly crossing from the Kenya-Somalia border, have been targeting roads, security forces, and local infrastructure, including communication masts and police camps.
