Viewing Iran-Djibouti relations as developing, he noted the two countries’ common political, cultural, international and regional view points, and added that the two sides have made desirable agreements about joint investment projects and mutual energy cooperation. The chief executive official termed the visit to Iran by his Djiboutian counterpart as a milestone in the two states’ ties, and further informed reporters of the two countries’ increased cooperation within the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), mentioning that the said cooperation would serve to develop the existing ties, implement previous agreements and help to the expansion of justice in the world. He also hoped for the promotion of the two nation’s friendly relations through the said cooperation efforts. For his part, Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh briefed reporters about the goals and achievements of his visit to Tehran and said that he is profoundly pleased with the agreements made about the level of the two sides’ future cooperation. Stating satisfaction with his trip to Iran, he said was deeply honored by the visit, but meantime regretted over the short time of his trip. Guelleh said that the two countries share mutual understanding, and said that the two sides’ have discussed consolidation and development of relations and the need for their active presence at the international circles and bodies. He further pointed out that during his talks with Ahmadinejad, they have agreed to present common view points in the international bodies and scenes and discussed how to make the two sides’ bilateral ties increasingly active. Following the press conference, the Djiboutian President was officially seen off by his iranian counterpart and then left Tehran for his country.
