Four people won $5,000 Individual Artist Fellowships from the Greater Columbus Arts Council.

Recipients are painter Philip Brou, mixed-media and installation artist Tim Rietenbach, photographer Abdi Roble and ceramist Steven Thurston.
Brou is a lecturer at Ohio State University.
Rietenbach is a member of the faculty at the Columbus College of Art & Design.
Roble is a freelance photographer and founder of the Somali Documentary Project.
Thurston is a member of the Ohio State University faculty.
A total of 126 artists applied for the fellowships, the council said. The annual awards recognize outstanding artists in Franklin County.
