BOSTON A teen-ager who escaped war-torn Somalia and planned to attend college in the fall has become the latest victim of gun violence in Boston.
Police say 19-year-old Abdirauf Abdullahi was chased down and shot to death Sunday near his home in the South End.A 15-year-old has been charged in the killing.
Relatives of the victim say Abdullahi and his family escaped Somalia and came to Boston in 1996. He was in the Metco program and graduated this month from Concord-Carlisle High School. He was set to attend the University of Charleston in West Virginia and wanted to become a pharmacist.
Eloy Sierra of Randolph was arraigned on a murder charge yesterday and ordered held without bail. Another 15-year-old has been charged as an accessory.
Police have no motive for the killing.
