The entire Muslim community has become indignant to have witnessed terrorism being perpetrated in the name of religion by the extremists, who are cliques of al-Ithad and al-Qaeda, the Court’s Deputy President Sheikh Kejidin Amhed said on Saturday.

Muslims have become put out to have witnessed the Holy cause of Sharia courts mocked at. The harmonious Ethiopian peoples staunchly oppose any act of terrorism masked behind religion, he said. The entire Muslim community in Ethiopia thus deplores such illegal acts.

By tampering with the sacrosanct cause of Sharia courts, the extremists operating in Mogadishu could not conceal their nonchalance to the faith and their having stood for the interests of anti-peace forces and the realization of their craze for power, he said.

Being one of the principal institutions of Islam, the Supreme Sharia Court deplores this camouflaged war of terror declared by the fundamentalists in Mogadishu against Ethiopians, he noted.

He called on the entire Muslim community to stand vigilant against any act of terrorism that the extremists threaten to perpetrate against Ethiopia.

He expressed admiration to the consistency of the Ethiopian government has shown with its support for the legitimate Transitional Federal Government of Somalia, and thereby for the prevalence of peace in that country.

He stressed the urgent need for Igad, AU and the international community to quell the acts of the terrorists.

Peace loving forces, he said, should also censure the Eritrean government for its anti-peace moves to making the region a hotbed of terrorists.
