AN INTERNATIONAL murder investigation has been launched to find the killer of a 22-year-old man who died in Wales three years ago.

Mohamed Musa died in April 2003, days after receiving series head injuries when he was attacked in Butetown, Cardiff in the early hours of the morning.

Despite an extensive investigation and widespread appeals, including a £5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest, his killer was never found.

Detectives working with Interpol have identified a Kenyan-born Somali man wanted in connection with the assault. They believe he moved abroad after the incident.

Mohamud Mahad, 20, is described being 6ft tall, of medium build, with brown eyes and hair, which is possibly cropped to the sides, longer on top and with a thin moustache.

He may also be using the name Mahamoud Ahmed Hersi or the nicknames Mafia and Yabada.
