Beledweyne (HOL) — A delegation led by Djibouti’s Foreign
Minister Abdukadir Hussein Omar arrived Friday in Beledweyne, the capital of
the Hiiraan region, as part of a multi-city visit to Somalia.
The delegation was welcomed at Ugaas Khaliif Airport by
regional authorities and Somali and Djiboutian troops participating in the
African Union mission in the area.
Minister Omar is expected to meet with officials from the
Hiiraan regional administration, officers from the Djiboutian contingent, and
commanders of the Somali National Army in Beledweyne later today.
The visit follows Thursday’s meeting in Mogadishu, where
Omar held high-level talks with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and other
federal leaders.
The delegation is scheduled to travel to Dhusamareb, the
capital of Galmudug state, later on Friday as part of efforts to strengthen
security cooperation and regional stability.
