Mogadishu (HOL) – Somalia’s military court has executed
three men convicted of belonging to the al-Shabaab militant group and carrying
out deadly attacks in Mogadishu and the Lower Shabelle region.

The executed men — Qudama Hamza Yusuf, Abdi Hassan Roble,
and Ibrahim Omar Shama’un — were found guilty of targeted killings and bombings
that caused civilian and military casualties, according to state media. The
Armed Forces Military Court handed down the death sentences as part of its
counterterrorism mandate.

The executions come days after two Somali soldiers were
executed on August 11 for conspiring with al-Shabaab to assassinate a
commander, bringing the total to six al-Shabaab-linked executions in August.

The government, alongside international partners, continues
intensified military operations aimed at defeating the group and restoring
nationwide security.
