Kismayo (HOL) — The Jubaland State Ministry of Security has implemented stringent security protocols in preparation for the upcoming elections, stressing the importance of public safety and electoral integrity.

All armed forces, including the Darawish forces and local intelligence units, have been ordered to maintain a heightened state of readiness to ensure security across the region.

Under these new directives, security personnel are prohibited from engaging in political activities and must focus solely on their designated security roles. They are required to remain within designated camps and operational areas, with strict regulations preventing any armed personnel from moving outside these zones without official duty.

Candidates and political stakeholders participating in the elections must coordinate their security measures with the Jubaland Police Force, ensuring that they enlist legally recognized protection to maintain order throughout the electoral process.

Deputy Minister of Security Adan Ahmed Haji has warned against the establishment of clan-based armed groups, which pose a threat to stability and peace during this crucial time. He stressed the need for a reliable security framework to support a smooth electoral process.

The elections will be closely monitored by local and international observers.
