Mogadishu (HOL) — Jubbaland Darwish forces carried out a military operation in the Lower Jubba region on Sunday, recapturing several areas previously controlled by Al-Shabab.
The second battalion of the Jubbaland Darwish army launched operations targeting Al-Shabab positions, reclaiming key villages, including Cag Liba, Libaaley, and Dalnaje, which had been under the group’s control for years.
Major General Mohamud Abdi Ailmooge Fanah, the commander of the second brigade who led operations, confirmed that the forces destroyed Al-Shabab strongholds near Janay Abdalle, a location where the group previously organized attacks.
The general emphasized that this mission is part of broader efforts by the Jubbaland administration to eliminate Al-Shabab’s presence in the region.
