Somali, Rwanda Presidents discuss bilateral relations and regional cooperation

Kigali (HOL) – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met with Rwandan President Paul Kagame in Kigali on Monday to discuss bilateral relations and regional cooperation.

During the meeting, the two leaders emphasized the importance of regional collaboration, particularly in addressing challenges such as terrorism.

President Kagame commended the Federal Government of Somalia for its security, diplomacy, and economic growth advancements and pledged Rwanda’s continued support for Somalia.

President Mohamud was among several African leaders and delegates who attended Kagame’s inauguration ceremony on Sunday.

According to the National Electoral Commission, Kagame won 99.18% of the vote in last month’s election. He has been in power since the aftermath of the 1994 genocide.
