Mogadishu (HOL) – Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre met
with Anders Hall, the State Secretary of the Swedish Ministry of Justice, in
Mogadishu on Monday.
Prime Minister Barre and Mr. Hall discussed bolstering the
mutual relations between Somalia and Sweden in all areas of shared benefit.
Barre praised the Swedish government for its support to
Somalia and urged it to contribute further to the government’s efforts in
development and democratization.
Mr. Hall commended the Somali government’s unwavering
commitment to countering international terrorism and acknowledged the tangible
advancements in security made against the Kharijites.
Sweden is one of the largest donors to Somalia, supporting
peacebuilding, democracy, human rights, equal health, and issues related to the
environment, climate, and energy.
